Exodus 21 -30

God has a huge issue who those schemes on how to kill another.

Does God encourages slavery by giving laws for them including giving your own daugther to slavery?

It seemed a bit harsh and almost unfair that God laws encouraged vengeance and retaliation.

The defender of the house is guilty if a thief is killed in his house after sunrise? Does that mean is

A thief is required to pay back double for everything stolen

It's still our problem if borrowed property gets stolen or damaged.

Sexual immorality must be compensated with money.

Sexual relations with an animal is worthy of death.

Charge no interest between family members.

Don't misguide the truth by ignoring and encouraging wickedness

Help those who hate you. For God does not accquit the guilty.

Remember that you were an alien in Egypt.

God wants us to remember and celebrate the times when he delivered us through feasts and good eating.

"Destroy other people's gods and worship only me"

God tells the Israelites his plan on how he's going to drive out the nations in Canaan.

Moses sprinkled blood on the people, it must have been a sight!

Moses went up to the mountain of God (Sinai) for forty days and nights and receive instructions on how to build the place where God will dwell with is people.

Told them to build the tabernacle, the ark, lampstand and the table with exact dimensions and instructions.

The ark was to have poles that were not to be removed. (No wonder of the unfortunate incident later on: when God says so, it's so).

The tabernacle has very precise instructions on how to build the curtains. What's amazing is that God is telling them the importance of crossing over which is represented by the curtains. it all make sense when the curtain in the temple was torn in two when Jesus died.

The altar was build of Acacia wood, this is where burnt offerings where performed. Even the bowls to remove the ashes were specified.

The tabernable has a courtyard that looked just as amazing as the tabernable itself. The courtyard also had curtains made of linen and bronze accessories.

The lamp burnt with clear oil and the levites (the priests) made them burning. Special garments were made for the priests and were made sacred.

The Ephod was made of stones that beared the names of the sons of Israel. It was worn by Aaron.

The breastpiece was made of precious stones (twelve in all) and tied to the Ephod. It was to make decisions for Israel when inside the Holy place. It was to be worn by Aaron (the first High priest)

A plate was made, engraved "HOLY TO THE LORD", is to be attached to the High priest's head. This is to bear the guilt of the sacrifices made by the people. Similar comparison can be made to Jesus who, in the order of Melchizedek (book of Hebrews), took upon the sins of not only Israel, but of the world. These are just shadows (book of colossians).

Priests were consecrated by being sprinkled by blood, and eat the meat the ram (only those who were consecrated could eat this food). From then onwards, only priests could eat consecrated food.

An altar of incense was made to burn sweet aroma onto the Lord. A basin for washing was made to wash the hands and feet of the priests before worship to prevent DEATH. This is symbolic to Jesus washing his disciple's feet to represent readiness to worship God in preparation for "every good works".

RE: End of Year Function 2012

Hi bros and sisters   I think people will still travel on Saturday anyway to different destinations, so they can travel to Athlone Girls for our Christmas party. Personally, I think we should do the party on Saturday as original arranged and let Sunday be exclusively reserved for our praise and worship service.   Saturday we just party and have a good time!   Kind Regards   Henry Mnguni Sales Executive   Rivonia Toyota Office:        011 275 1699 Mobile:       082 325 5593 Fax2Email: 086 242 8226   C/O Rivonia Road            & Witkoppen Rivonia Crossing Sunninghill   From: Maswuma, Nelson T [mailto:nmaswuma@beckman.com] Sent: 18 October 2012 11:24 AM To: Paulin Kantue; Barnabas Chukweke; Bertha Chukweke; Henry Mnguni; Henry Mnguni; Henry Mnguni; fatamathebula@gmail.com...

Now faith...

"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." (Hebrews 11:1). Often times I believe that I have faith by what I say and think. But the more I meditate on this scripture, I see that 'being sure' comes with your body language when that situation is mentioned. You don't drop ur head; you still have a bounce in your step. Everything about you says you have a positive attitude towards that situation. "And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him." (Hebrews 11:6). So it goes on a step further and says without that positive attitude and bounce in your step, God will not be pleased. For the source of that confidence comes from acknowledging God's presence in our lives and Him able to do beyond what we can imagine. "Abraham reasoned that God could raise the dead, and figuratively speaking, he did receive Is...

Affirming in Disagreement

A gentle answer deflects anger, but harsh words make tempers flare. -  Proverbs 15:1 Do you know how to affirm your spouse even when you disagree? It's a big step in learning how to have meaningful conversations. Take this example: A wife has shared that she is hurt by something her husband has done, and he responds, "I appreciate your sharing your ideas and feelings with me. Now I can understand why you could feel so hurt. If I were in your shoes, I'm sure I would feel the same way. I want you to know that I love you very much, and it hurts me to see you upset. I appreciate your being open with me." This husband has learned the art of affirming his wife even though he may not agree with her perception. Of course, he has a perspective and will eventually share it, but first, he wants his wife to know that he understands what she is saying and can identify with her pain. He is not condemning her interpretation, nor is he telling her that she should not feel up...
